Winslow Porter is a Brooklyn based director, producer and creative technologist specializing in virtual reality and large-scale immersive installations. He has always been fascinated with the possibilities of how the intersection of art and technology can elevate storytelling. With over 10 years of experiential work under his belt, he has helped create interactive art experiences for Google, Delta, The Clinton Global Initiative and Wired to name a few. Winslow also produced the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival Transmedia Award-winning documentary CLOUDS, among other acclaimed new media projects.
While residents at The New Museum Incubator in lower Manhattan, Winslow formed New Reality Company with Milica Zec in 2016, creating the critically acclaimed cinematic VR experiences Giant and Tree which have been shown at over 75 events and festivals all over the globe. The two were both named designers in residence at A/D/O, a BMW sponsored design center in Greenpoint Brooklyn; last fall the two were selected to Adweek’s Top 100 creatives as digital innovators. Tree recently received a Lumiere Award for Best VR Location Based Short, a Games for Change Award for Most Innovative, two Telly Awards for both ‘Use of VR for Branded Content’ and ‘Social Responsibility for Branded Content’, a Webby People’s Voice Award for Best VR: Interactive, game or Real-Time, a AR/VR Award from the Lumen Prize for Digital Art, and an Audience Award from Hot Docs DocX. Recently Winslow was named as a Cultural Leader and Tech Pioneer at the World Economic Forum and Tianjin, China.
Winslow currently runs the New York branch of New Reality embedded inside of the world-renowned design agency R/GA.
