Approaches to Accessibility in WebVR

By now, most designers and developers are familiar with best practices in accessibility, such as those recommended in the WCAG 2.0 standard guidelines. But WebVR opens a whole new arena of digital experiences—and, with them, a whole new challenge: how can we make VR experiences accessible without breaking immersion? For example, how can we translate a visually immersive experience so it is also immersive for someone who is visually challenged? Roland will present an accessible WebVR experience he has tested by people with disabilities, and share his findings via film and lecture. While this won’t be the final word in accessible VR, it will create an engaging discussion and smart jumping-off point.
